Our PhysiciansDr. Jeffrey H. Lautman has been in practice since 1989. He is Board Certified in Nephrology, a graduate of OSU's prestigious Independent Study Medical School. He completed his Nephrology Fellowship at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Case Medical School. Dr. Lautman is on the forefront of the latest technologies and approaches that help his patients. He was one of the first private practice nephrologists to introduce Home Hemodialysis to Cleveland and the innovative ambulatory 24-hour BP wearable device. Dr. Lautman also pioneered the Chronic Kidney Disease Clinics, Cleveland Clinic Health System, Eastern Region. Recognized for his leadership, he was elected to serve as Chief of Staff for Hillcrest Hospital, after serving as Chief of Nephrology there. He is Medical Director, CDC Euclid Hemodialysis and Medical Director, CDC Euclid Home/Peritoneal Dialysis. He is a past Chief of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic’s Euclid Hospital. For all his titles, Dr. Lautman is most proud of how patients connect with him in a very real and personal way. He loves history, Bible study/cantillation, the Browns and ballroom dance. Dr. Renato "Marc" Roman (pronounced Ro-mahn) has been in practice for over 20 years in Virginia and Ohio. He is Board Certified in Nephrology. Besides having an M.D., Dr. Roman also has a Masters in Business Administration – Leadership. Applying his well-honed leadership skills to healthcare, Dr. Roman has held the office of Chief of Medicine, as well as Chief of Nutrition, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Danville Regional Medical Center. He also served as Medical Director of Fresenius and ARA dialysis units, and Vice President of his former Nephrology-Urology private practice in Virginia. Most importantly, patients are drawn to him because he is calm, genuine and straightforward. He makes it a point to talk to patients in a way that they and/or their loved ones can understand. Dr. Roman sees patients in all three office locations - Geauga, Mayfield Hts, and Euclid. He sees patients at University Hospitals Health Geauga Medical Center and Cleveland Clinic's Euclid and Hillcrest Hospitals. When he’s not working, Dr. Roman loves to spend time with his family, all of whom are avid tennis players and swimmers. |

Our Nurse Practitioners
Tim Ray, DNP, CNP, CNN-NP We are fortunate to have had Tim with our practice since 1999. We were delighted to celebrate Tim's 20th year with our practice in June 2019! He has both a Masters and Nursing Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). He is a Board Member of the CNN-NP and Test Writing Committee, NNCC; and on the clinical faculty at CWRU, Kent State University and Ursuline College. He is a published author on nephrology. Tim is a natural leader. He founded and coordinates a professional group of nephrology nurse practitioners in the greater Cleveland area. In addition, Tim works closely with various patient-centered kidney organizations locally and nationally, such as the NKF, ANNA, and The Renal Network. He brings to bear a profound knowledge of nephrology and hypertension to each patient under his care. Lisa Stevens, MSN, CNP Lisa is a focused and energetic Nurse Practitioner. Her past experience in the Cleveland Clinic's ICU is an ideal background for a nephrology NP. Her bright smile and sharp mind is a powerful combination. You can look forward to seeing her collaborating with your CKHC doctor and others on your medical team, at the hospital or at the dialysis center, with a holistic approach to your care. Jill Buttolph, MSN, CNP Jill worked as an ICU nurse for nine years where she mastered care for critically ill adult patients. She sailed through Nurse Practitioner school and joined us in 2015. She's very understanding and smart. You feel at ease talking to Jill. She works under the guidance of your doctor at the hospital or dialysis center, to hear your concerns and address them in a timely, professional manner, with compassion. In her free time Jill enjoys cooking for friends and family, participating in amateur photography, and snow skiing during the winter months. She also loves spending time vacationing with her family at Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. Maureen Weishner, MSN, CNP Maureen is an excellent, energetic nurse practitioner. She started her career with a BSN in 2008 and worked at Lake Health in critical care services primarily in the step down unit. She applied her natural leadership skills soon after as an Assistant Nurse Manager, Critical Care. Maureen then earned her MSN at Ursuline College, and topped that with a Nurse Practitioner degree/certification in 2015. She has over four years of experience as a hospitalist nurse practitioner, a very broad role in medicine. With her background, Maureen is a natural at taking care of nephrology patients. She was just as excited as we were to have her join our team! |

Our Support Staff
Lauren, LPN, Clinical Coordinator: Lauren has always had an interest in helping others. After seven years as a nursing assistant, she pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated at the top of her class from Willoughby-Eastlake School of Practical Nursing and worked for four years in primary care at Lake Health. Now at CKHC Lauren handles several responsibilities as Clinical Coordinator. She works closely with Dr. Lautman before, during and after your visits to ensure you're provided with an excellent care from our practice. She does all this efficiently in her signature cheerful way. If you have any questions for Lauren or Dr. Lautman, please call (216) 621-6263 ex 707. Holly, Medical Assistant: Holly works closely with the doctors to help you at the office or when you're calling from home. Holly also coordinates with Cleveland Clinic's Chronic Care Services, as needed, under the doctors' guidance. She's very exacting when it comes to your medicine list, and we know you could have quite a long list, so her meticulousness is very much appreciated! If the doctor orders it, she'll fit you with a high tech, 24-hour blood pressure monitor, one of the latest technologies we employ to help determine the proper treatment plan for patients with difficult-to-control blood pressure. Holly is patient, kind and dedicated. She works directly with Dr. Yalavarthy to provide you the excellent care at our practice. In her free time, Rachel enjoys reading, painting, nature walks through Ohio’s national parks and spending time with her fiancé and their two cats. Patti, Physicians' Administrative Assistant/Insurance Biller: Patti has over 20 years of experience in the medical field. As a seasoned professional, she is here to help make sure your insurance company follows through on their commitment to you and to us. Jan, Assistant Manager/Billing Supervisor: Jan has been with the practice for over 20 years, since Dr. Lautman was a solo practitioner! She oversees multiple processes in our office and handles all issues with sensitivity. Teri, Manager: Teri has supported the phenomenal growth of our practice, coordinating all of our staff and services, and introducing new technologies that allow us to serve you in the most up to date methods. For over 20 years she has worked behind the scenes to ensure that we provide the best service to you. Ashley, Administrative Assistant: Ashley has over 10 years experience in the medical field working as a medical assistant as well as an administrative professional. Ashley helps support Teri, the practice manager, to ensure administrative duties are organized, running smoothly and efficiently. Ashley's hobbies include gardening, hiking and kayaking with her husband and two children. Ashley also volunteers her time as a local chapter president for families that have children with complex heart conditions in honor of her son, who has a congenital heart defect. |
